THE VILLAGE AT WORK

A Place to Start When Life Gets Complicated.

Because sometimes people don’t need someone to fix their life. They just need a place to start.

The Village at Work is a workplace peer support and resource navigation program offered through Mommy Break Solutions LLC.

Through their employer, eligible employees have access to trained Peer Support Specialists who provide one-on-one, non-clinical support when life becomes difficult to navigate.

Maybe they’re struggling with a family situation.

Maybe they’re worried about money.

Maybe they’re dealing with a divorce, caregiving responsibilities, grief, housing concerns, parenting challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed.

Maybe they don’t know exactly what they need.

They just know something needs to change.

That’s where The Village comes in.

We give employees a place to talk, a person who will listen without judgment, and support in figuring out what comes next.

Sometimes that means connecting them to a resource they didn’t know existed.

Sometimes it means helping them take the first step toward professional support.

And sometimes, they simply need someone to remind them:

You don’t have to figure this out alone.

The Village at Work exists to help employees find their way forward, while giving organizations a meaningful way to show their people that they are seen, valued, and supported.

WHY THE VILLAGE MATTERS

Before Life Becomes a Crisis, Give People a Place to Start.

Mental health is becoming a bigger part of the conversation in our workplaces, and for good reason.

People are paying more attention to how stress, relationships, finances, parenting, caregiving, housing, grief, and other life circumstances affect their overall well-being.

And those challenges don’t stay at home when someone walks into work.

An employee going through a divorce, struggling to pay bills, worried about housing, caring for a family member, dealing with their child’s challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed may still show up for work, but carrying all of that can make it harder to feel focused, motivated, connected, and engaged.

The World Health Organization estimates that depression and anxiety contribute to 12 billion lost working days each year globally, with an estimated $1 trillion in lost productivity. (World Health Organization)

And Gallup’s latest U.S. data shows that only 31% of U.S. employees were engaged at work in 2025. (Gallup.com)

These numbers remind us of something important:

People bring their whole lives to work.

The Village at Work isn’t designed to diagnose or treat depression or anxiety.

We’re focused on what may be happening around a person.

The divorce.

The financial stress.

The housing problem.

The parenting challenge.

The grief.

The caregiving responsibilities.

The uncertainty.

The feeling of not knowing where to turn.

Sometimes, helping someone address one of those stressors, or simply helping them identify a path forward, can be an important first step toward feeling more capable of managing everything they’re carrying.

And when an employee needs clinical care, we don’t try to provide it.

We help them recognize when additional support may be appropriate and connect them toward qualified professional resources, such as an EAP, therapist, behavioral health provider, healthcare professional, or other appropriate service.

The Village meets people where they are.

We listen without judgment.

We help them make sense of what’s happening.

We help them identify what they need.

We help them discover resources they may not have known existed.

And we help them take a realistic next step

CARE FOR THE PERSON. SUPPORT THE EMPLOYEE.

When employees feel seen, heard, and valued, it can change how they experience their workplace.

They know their employer doesn’t only see them as a job title, a position, or a number.

They know someone cares about the person behind the employee.

That matters.

A workplace that makes it easier for people to ask for help and find support sends a powerful message:

“You matter here.”

The Village gives organizations a practical way to put that message into action.

Because supporting the whole person isn’t separate from supporting the employee.

It is supporting the employee.

When people have access to the support and resources they need to navigate difficult seasons of life, they don’t have to carry everything alone.

And when people feel supported as human beings, they can be better positioned to show up, stay engaged, grow, and move forward; both at work and in life.

Care for the person. Support the employee.

That’s what it means to care for your people beyond the paycheck.

WHAT THIS SAYS ABOUT YOUR ORGANIZATION

Offering The Village at Work isn’t simply adding another employee benefit.

It is a statement about the kind of workplace you want to create.

It tells your employees:

We see you.

We value you.

We know life happens.

And you don’t have to figure everything out alone.

The Village gives organizations a way to turn a culture of care from something written in a mission statement into something an employee can actually experience.

Because caring about your people shouldn’t just be something you say.

It should be something they can feel.

They just need someone to listen, help them make sense of what they’re facing, and help them find a place to start.

That’s what The Village is here to do.

A place to be heard.
